MX Motorsport is a recently formed race team specializing in Mazda Mx5 Mk1 racing

Borne from over 15 years in the Mazda Mx5 racing paddock, we have in depth hands on experience in everything that makes for a great racing thrill in a Mazda Mx5 Mk1. Whether you are looking to just tip your toe in the water with a track day or are ready for a full race season, we have the knowledge and support to ensure you get the most out of your time in a Mazda race car.

Working with and run by numerous championship winning teams over the last 15 years, our key personnel have accumulated the knowledge and technical expertise to help you get the best out of you and your car, with battle hardened race mechanics to optimize your car whatever the weather, to meaningful data analysis to keep your driving skills moving forward.

Within just half a season we have recently turned a complete rookie (never raced in anything ) into a consistent finisher with a best 9th position in the highly competitive BRSCC AD Modular MX5 Championship at Cadwell Park, one of the most technically demanding circuits on the racing calendar.

Having fun on track in a Mazda Mx5 Mk1 race car with MX Motorsport

We understand how expensive motor racing can be even at the hobbyist level and whilst Mazda Mx5 Mk1 racing represents both a stepping stone category for young guns from karting progressing through the ranks carrying through to your rock up and have a go club level racer, we always maintain a spirit of having fun and not taking ourselves too seriously. We always offer a professional service level within the context of it being mazda racing….. enjoy.

The Mazda Mx5 Mk1 was designed as a fun road car, with superb balance and grip, so take away a load of weight, stiffen it up and throw in a little more power and your MX5 race car is a whole heap of fun to race on the track. Although I don’t think the track day warriors in their Porsches and BMWs nipping at their heels around the corners by a little Mazda Mx5  enjoy the experience as much as we do.
